My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Lucy: 7 yr old; Sex: Female; Weight 30 lb; Breed: Welsh Corgi/ Border Collie; Activity Level: Active Companion; Coat: Rough BW. Lucy is located in MD and is part of the TX rescue. When we feel it is a perfect match we will ensure her safety to your home. Lucy finds herself on her 2nd journey of adoption with a dog savy Foster to Adopt/Adoptive home BUT as the only doggie diva. It seems like just yesterday that this Borgi was rescued from a rural TX shelter with a damaged limb and lack of trust. Fast forward 6.5 yrs and life has changed for Lucy and her previous adoptive family in MD with changing lifestyle multiple moves, as well as and with a 2 yr old toddler and another baby on the away. As common in busy homes with lots of change the relationship with owners other dog and Lucy has not been compatible for some time and as much as they love Lucy they knew she needs more calm in her life. Lucy is a lover; great traveler; never gets on any furniture; she is not a barker; has a mat command; house trained and crate trained; enjoys a doggie door and secure 6 foot privacy fence. True to all herding dogs Lucy is stimulation driven and needs to find outlets to release this energy, she is an active dog for walks maybe fun bike rides and tricks as she already has a nice obedience foundation. She does need to continue working on impulse control training inside the home working for everything transferring the leadership to a stronger leash responses to higher stimulation. Lucy would rather continue this training than go to dog bars and parks as dogs are very iffy to her; possible she was attacked when younger based on her response to stranger dogs. Her ideal home is a dog savvy home with a break during a work day; possibly 1 calm child 8 up; no other animals; space between neighbors as she does enjoy sharing a lovely yard with her owners with a 6 foot privacy fence; apartments/condos are case by case basis. Lucy is fully vetted, micro chipped, been on Sentinal and crate and house trained. Her adoption fee is $350 to include the cost of transportation. you must fill out an application for Lucy pictures maybe asked at this time, home visit where applicable, please allow the rescue to inquire about previous training experience. The rescue may recommend a trainer to assist in the transition to the new home as it may cause some tress for Lucy.
