My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Miss Electra!

Anyone who has been following us for a while will recognize this sweet face and probably knows the long journey she’s had since coming to us back in 2018. Well she’s back. Again. Through no fault of her own. If fact, it was a very hard goodbye to watch because we know her dad loved her very much. But life events happened and she had to be returned.

Electra has been adopted out a few times over the years. Her stays last about a year, with one family even abandoning her. So let’s start with all that’s great about this girl:

•She loves all other dogs
•She loves her humans—big & small, & makes a great snuggle buddy
•She’s great with cats that don’t run from her (anything smaller than a cat is a no go)
•Car rides are her favorite thing
•House & kennel trained
•The best pittie smile you will ever find
•85lbs of nothing but love & loyalty to give (she sometimes doesn’t realize how big she is though)

So why does this perfect sounding dog keep getting returned you may wonder…

Well, she’s a runner, she’s a track star! 😆

Electra is like a bolt of lightening and her fat butt can jump any fence under 9 ft. Open a door to the outside and she thinks the race begins. She can be put out on a cable and does great though. Electra is also around 9 yrs old, but you sure can’t tell it. And she is super strong.

We just want her to find the right family who she can live out her years with and who can responsibly cater to her one “bad” habit. Someone who sees her for the great dog she is and will love her, track star abilities and all.

Ideal home would be one with no little kids (that was a reason twice for her return, was kids opening doors a lot and her running past them) and one with no track star cats (Electra will race and she will win, but she won’t hurt them.) These aren’t requirements, just what we feel would be best for her.

Electra can also go to a foster home if anyone is need of a temporary 85lb snuggle bug.
