My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Sweet little Jena came to us after being discarded from a puppy mill along with 13 others. She was kept in a small cage outside her entire life churning out babies for profit. She had minimal care and not even a blanket. Thankfully Jena has a forgiving spirit and has adjusted very well to living indoors and with a family. She actually has quite an open personality for a puppy mill dog. She is guessed to be a Chinese Crested mixed with Chihuahua as that is what most of the dogs from the mill were. She is approximately 7 years old and weighs approximately 9 pounds. She has a perfect combination of weird personality of the Chinese Crested and the Chihuahua. Which we think is pretty special. She is timid at first, but blossoms very quickly. She would do best in a quite home, where she doesn't have to worry about going out and figuring out new social situations. She is VERY content staying at home and cuddling. She LOVES to cuddle, but is also content alone curled up on a bed. She isn't needy. She loves to sleep in the bed with her foster parents. She is working on her house training, but this training will need to be continued in her new home. She will either need to be leash walked or have a very secure taller fence that she will never be left alone in. SHE CAN JUMP almost any fence if left unattended. She is excellent with other dogs and cats as well. She doesn't have any (or many) teeth and will have to be on a soft food diet. Jena is spayed, microchiped, heartworm negative, kept on monthly heartworm and flea prevention, and up to date on vaccinations. Her adoption fee is $275 and her transport fee is $145. She is currently being fostered in TN, but we will transport her to her new home once the adoption is approved. Please email us at brighthopeadoptions@gmail.com for an application.
