My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Marlon is a gorgeous Purebred French Bulldog that turned 1 year old 8/22/2018. He was purchased from a breeder at 4 months old and has lived with one family. He is a loving, high energy typical French Bulldog. He is neutered and has received 4 weeks of inboard training.

His current family can no longer keep Marlon. Below are the absolute requirements to be considered to adopt this adorable guy.

You MUST:
1. Have bulldog experience and be aware of health issues and behavior issues of this breed. Be a committed dog owner for life.
2. Live in a home with access to a secure backyard and no plans to move from the local area. No pool, or fenced pool.
3. Work from home or home often, have no other pets in the home and be local to the Burbank area to bring him for free daycare to keep him social with other dogs.
4. Allow Marlon to sleep in bed with you if he chooses.

Here are some notes from his foster family:
What we’ve learned about Mr. Marlon. He’s very playful, and his favorite activities are racing through the house at full speed, playing with balls, and chewing his antler. He also loves “bulldozing” through piles of pillows and hiding under blankets. Outdoors he loves chasing crickets, flies and moths!
His house training has come along extremely well! We give him consistent potty breaks, but have been waiting a bit longer between them to test him, and he’s done a very good job. He even gives us a hint (like scratching at the door) if he needs to go out immediately. He’s been entirely non-possessive when it comes to food or toys. He has his moments of bursts of high-energy and wants to play, but then just as quickly will settle down for a quick nap afterwards.
When it comes to people food — he’s very, very curious what we are eating at dinner time, and tries to get as close to it as possible. We’ve simply ignored him, and he loses interest after just a couple fo minutes and will lay down on the floor and let us eat. We’ve been working with the training that he received, and since he’s very treat motivated, he’s been very responsive. Still working with him on the “come” command, as he gets distracted when he’s in the yard exploring.
At bedtime, he’ll play right up until the last minute but when the lights go out and the TV is off, he settles into bed very quickly. He sleeps on the bed, but prefers to be at the foot of the bed. Once he’s out for the night, he sleeps pretty much the whole night through! Solid sleeper!
He’s had access to an open crate for the past several days that he’s curiously walked in and out of. He’s only actually been crated once, for about an hour. He barked a bit at the beginning, but upon returning home, he was quiet, comfortable and showed no sign of stress. Tonight he was in and out of it again of his own free will, so no “fear” of the crate.
Things to watch out for: loves to chew on the corners of pillows, rugs, wood corners, etc. He’s easily corrected and is responsive to the “NO” command and distraction. He’s very relaxed, curious about his surroundings, and very loving but also independent!
