Here's what the humans have to say about me:
1.5-2 year old Siberian Husky female
Maya’s previous owner had her for about a year before surrendering her to us. She is sweet and loving and very playful. The person she came from before that said that she was born in the pound and placed between two cage fighters. We are not sure the truth of this story, but what we are all sure of is that she was definitely traumatized in some way at an early age. She appears to have a high anxiety level, especially when no one is at home. Her previous owner tried several medications from the vet but did not find anything effective. She is very devoted to her people and deserves to have a good life.
In her foster home, Maya has really been coming around the last few weeks! She plays with the other two huskies in her home when she wants to, and has been slowly coming to her fosters more for attention. She will take treats and chew on bones – she especially loves carrots! She still likes her corner and sleeps there all night and most of the day. She is incredibly sweet and gentle, but definitely skittish. She needs walks and patience to work on her confidence and to learn that she will never be hurt again!
We think a quieter home would be the best fit for Maya – her foster has one child, and 2 other dogs, and she is doing great there. Somewhere that there aren’t a ton of people in and out the door all the time, and where she would not be alone a lot, would be the ideal situation!
