Hi,

Alonzo is a very lovable and affectionate guy and loves kids especially babies and is very protective of his humans. He loves to play and cuddle and has a lot of life left in him. However, he needs a new home and needs owners that will tend to his needs and give him the attention he deserves since his current owners are unable to manage 3 dogs and a baby. It's very important that his future humans tend to him because he recently broke his back last summer, but has fully recovered from spinal surgery. He may be fully be recovered, but he does walk and run with a slight wobble which hasn't affected his ability to go potty.

We don't want to re-home to just anyone. We'd prefer that you are an attentive dog owner who will give him attention and take him out for daily walks. He also does fine with other dogs once he gets to know them which usually takes several minutes. He goes into protective mode (just barks) when he first meets new dogs, but settles down after a few minutes.
