Here's what the humans have to say about me:
If you're interested in adopting, which includes an adoption trial, please go to our website, review the Adoption Process page and complete the application:
www.RuralAnimalRescueEffort.org
*Please understand that applications will be considered before any general inquiries due to lack of time and resources. We are an all-volunteer based rescue. The application is important and necessary to help us determine the right fit for you and your family!
Please read my story below:
My name is Sierra. I am a beautiful Shepherd mix with a gorgeous golden/beige coat. I am a very happy girl and I LOVE people. I am around 2 years old and weigh 60 lbs. I am super smart and have a medium to medium/high energy level. Having a fenced yard is going to be best for me because I like to stretch my legs and run a bit. I like to play with other dogs, but usually one at a time is better than several. Dog parks may not be ideal for me, since so many dogs come running at once. As you can imagine, that can be a little overwhelming! I am working on manners, like sitting at the and letting my foster mom go through doors first and sitting for my meal times before food is put down. I'm still young so I have things to learn, but I am 100% crate trained and do well in the crate while my foster mom is at work during the day. I also do well in the house while my foster mom is home. I have not yet been tested with cats, but I can be if you have cats at home.
I am ready for my forever home, so what are you waiting for?!
Please visit RuralAnimalRescueEffort.org to view our Adoption Process page and complete the Dog Adoption Application.
My adoption fee is $135.00
I am spayed/neutered, up to date on vaccines, kept on heartworm preventative and micro-chipped prior to adoption.
In order to meet or adopt me, please complete the online application at RuralAnimalRescueEffort.org
PLEASE NOTE: Veterinary/Medical expenses are constant for an animal rescue. Our adoption fees not only help to provide vetting and care for the animal being adopted, but they also help to cover heart-worm treatments and other treatable ailments that many animals, that would otherwise be euthanized, need in order to be made available for adoption. Please understand that adopting an animal is a lifetime commitment to that animal and there will be veterinary expenses throughout their life that can often cost several hundreds, if not thousands of dollars (without pet insurance), especially without annual checkups and preventative care. All fosters/adopters must have a fenced yard or be willing and able to walk on leash for potty purposes. As a potential family for this pet you are responsible for their safety and that includes keeping them on your property.
An application and home visit/meet & greet are required. A RARE representative (normally the President and/or foster parent(s) will bring the animal of interest to the home in order to ensure the right fit, perform meet & greet and answer any questions, go over vaccination and other vet paperwork etc.. An adoption trial may commence at that time, if RARE and potential adopter(s) are in agreement. Please complete the application on our website www.RuralAnimalRescueEffort.org and we will call you to explain the adoption process in more detail and answer any questions you may have.
*If you are not in the middle Tennessee area, transport can potentially be arranged to approved homes, depending on distance. We normally do not allow adoptions outside of 2 hours driving distance due to limited resources and difficulty ensuring the right match, especially if there are already animals in the home.
**All of our pets are, or will be, spayed/neutered, up to date on all vaccines and micro-chipped prior to adoption.
Thank you for choosing to adopt, foster, or aid in the rescue efforts of RARE!
