My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Birdie!

Birdie is a 9 month old, small breed mix (could be Min Pin mixed with Chihuahua or possibly some Italian Greyhound). She weighs about 9lbs, and could grow to be about 12-15lbs. Birdie currently lives with 2 female large breed dogs who she enjoys playing with, going on walks with, and she's great at playing fetch and will bring the ball back!. She is about 80% potty trained, with a few accidents ( she has been in foster care for 2 weeks after being picked up as a stray). Birdie does not like being crated, and likes to be with her people. She is a bit shy at first, but always happy to meet new people and dogs. She enjoys napping at your side, chewing on bones, and never passes up a walk. She is a very sweet, sensitive dog.

Birdie’s adoption fee is $300 and she is being fostered in Hartland, Wisconsin.

Because all our Cupids are fostered in private homes, an approved application MUST be on file before proceeding with a meet-and-greet. The online application can be found at http://www.caninecupids.org/adopt-.html.

Our Thoughts on Visual Breed Identification
Visual breed identification in dogs is unreliable. For most of our adoptable Cupids we are only guessing at the predominant breed or breed mix. We think it’s most important is to get to know each dog as an individual! We then do our best to describe each of our adoptable Cupids based on their personalities in order to determine whether they’ll make good companions based on prospective adopters’ lifestyles. Dog behavior is not exclusive to breed — it’s a complex mix of nature and nurture.
