Buddy's fosterer writes...

Do you love a little dog with a big personality? That’s our Buddy boy!

Buddy knows just what he does and doesn’t like and he’s very good at letting you know it. Serve Buddy his kibble dry and he’ll nudge it away. Mix in a spoonful of wet dog food, and he’ll happily clean his bowl.

Buddy is currently living with an assortment of dogs and gets on fine with them; supervised introduction to new dogs is best. Unfortunately, Buddy hasn’t reacted well to cats.

Buddy was very matted when he came into our program, so his coat has been shaved down. You can keep him that way or let his coat grow to its normal length of a few inches, but either way he’ll need regular grooming.

Buddy enjoys being near you, but once he’s settled in and knows the routine, he’s not clingy and you can get your work done. If he needs to go out, he’ll vocalize to let you know. His house training has been faultless.

Buddy’s activity level is average. He shows no interest in toys but enjoys walks very much.

Buddy loves to mosey around the yard. However, he is passionate about digging, so if you’re not willing to have both a lawn that looks like you have gophers on steroids, and a dog that often has a dirty face and paws, you’ll need to keep Buddy on leash until you train him not to dig.

Buddy loves to spend your couch time snuggled beside you as you pet him. If there’s no room beside you, he will leap into your lap when you’re seated, although he has learned to contain himself until invited.

Buddy’s a smart little guy and wants to please. He will bark and bounce with joy when you return home. Buddy would be such a loving, loyal companion to someone who will be as loyal to him, whatever may come!

If you are interested in Buddy, consider letting us know by filling out a (no-obligation) adoption application (http://www.pgspca.org/adopt/online-adoption-application/). Buddy is NOT expecting to attend any adoption shows. Please contact the PGSPCA to arrange to meet him.

NOTE: We are an all-volunteer group and do not operate a shelter. All of
our animals are in foster homes. Due to our requirement for a home
visit, we generally only place animals within an hour's drive of
Washington, DC. Questions can be directed to pgspcavol@gmail.com.
