My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Penelope is a HUGE character of a dog who started her life's journey in Texas but is having fun being a Rhode Islander now. 5-6 years old, she is an approximate husky-shepherd cross and we highly suspect has a little Bull Terrier thrown in....and for those of you who know breeds well, that is precisely how she maps out. She is sure of herself, but also very flirtatious and has many cute dances, silly head swings and loves to talk at you. She is very easy to get along with and extra fun to spend your day with, but is a street wise dog - nervous people make her nervous and brassy dogs tick her off. She more generally is affable and gets on with other dogs very well, but needs an adopter with a sense of humor and not one to sweat the small stuff. Cats and small furries are an absolute no no....she is a skilled huntress. Her energy overall is quite reasonable, she is pleasant to walk, and very easy to hang with. Well housebroken, crates great and seldom barks. She is a trophy worthy inveterate escape artist and needs someone who can establish a protocol of keeping her contained, as she does love her adventures and is extremely clever. A very fun, companionable life experience can be found in this extraordinary girl. She would do fine in an apartment. Applications are available on our southpawsexpress.org website or via contacting Lucy at maramuser@gmail.com. Her adoption fee is $450.
