My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Archie is a Lhasa / Dandie Dinmont mix. 8 yrs old, 28 lbs. Very chill. But very serious about his food, lol. He will do best in a home with no kids under 15 years of age as he does not like fast movements over his head. He's leash and house trained. Archie is cool with polite dogs. He is his own man, likes his space and his peace. He's a fabulous dog, such a love muffin. And the fact that he's opinionated adds to his charm.

His original owner had committed suicide. This could not have been a stable situation for Archie from the start. The owner committed suicide & the friend/significant other gets "stuck" with Archie. He repeatedly made negative posts about Archie (see last photo). Thankfully our volunteer rescued him. Archie was a hot mess mentally & physically. As of today, Archie has gone on a couple of trials but because of his traumatic past he's got some issues. He gets VERY protective of his people and his home. He can't be pulled by his collar & you can't swing your feet over his head (if he's laying next to your feet at a chair for example). The thing is, Archie will let you know the rules. It's up to you to follow them. He's smart, loving, house trained, doesn't shed, not a yapper, cool with well mannered dogs, loves belly rubs, car rides & playing with his toys. He's got some baggage but we all do. He's with a committed foster that understands him & he has a team behind him. Let's find this guy a great home where he'll know he's finally safe!
