Petra #0967 is a 7-year-old female, Yorkie/Terrier mix. This beautiful young lady came from a terrible situation. She was part of a seizure for a hoarding situation. She came to us with heartworms and we are looking for a foster who can work with her and foster her through her 4-month treatment. Foster will have first opportunity to adopt when her treatment is complete. We are working on crate training and she is doing better. She knows nothing about a leash; she will get up on her hind legs like a circus dog and try to back away. She is very scared; she should not be outside if she is not on a leash or in a secured fenced area. This little girl will need time and patience. She is good with other dogs. She weighs 12 pounds and is full grown. This pup is microchipped. We believe you can always teach an ‘old’ dog new tricks so we highly recommend continued obedience training for this smart pup; it stimulates the dog's mind and establishes a good dog/adopter relationship. This pup, like all pups should be on heartworm preventative, an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure!
