My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

River is very special WMH RESCUE DOG. He is a 7lb., 3 year old chihuahua who was burned and abused by whomever had him previously. He was pulled him from the Riverside shelter moments before being euthanized, we were told that he was going to be killed right then and there if we did not rescue him. Of course we could not let that happen and he has been safe and well taken care of in the hands of WMH Fosters.
When he came to us, he was afraid to be in the same room as a human and did not want to be touched by human hands; but now River has been rehabilitated and is an entirely different dog. He is a snuggler who wants to lay up against your body or snuggle in your lap. He loves to have his ears rubbed and enjoys a good back scratch.

Currently he gets to go to work with his foster family along with the other family dogs. He enjoys curling up with the office pups or taking a snooze under the desks of the various employees. He enjoys going out on the leash and the car ride to work too. He follows his current foster Mom and Dad all around like a shadow; and will wait for them to enter the room. We are thrilled to see him happy, and full of tail wagging!


River is potty trained, crate trained, and gets along well with other dogs. River needs an environment with a routine and a fellow pup friend. We are looking for an experienced adopter who can provide him his lifetime lap!
