My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hazel is a Beagle/Chocolate Labrador Retriever Mix. She is Chocolate Brown with White. Hazel is 1 Year Old. She is spayed and up to date on her shots. She weighs around 40 lbs.

Hazel is a chubby sweet girl! She was originally adopted in April of 09' and was just returned to the rescue for going after the neighbors hens and rooster. But Hazel has settled in very nicely with the rest of the rescue dogs and has found out her favorite place is the couch! Other than needing to loose a few pounds she is very well adjusted social with everyone. She loves to spend her day laying on the couch or your bed. Hazel also loves having her belly rubbed. Being a beagle she is very food motivated and knows exactly when you pull a bag of treats out. During the night she loves to snuggle under the covers with you and would be a great snuggle buddy for these cold winter nights. Where ever you are, Hazel is snuggling right up against you. Anyone would be very lucky to have this sweet girl in their family.

Hazel would do well in any household. She loves everyone she meets including Adults, Kids and other dogs. Since the reason she was returned to the rescue was Hazel chasing smaller animals such as hens, rabbits, and a rooster (Typical Beagle Behavior) she would be best to be adopted to a family that doesn't live on a farm. We haven't cat tested her yet so we're unsure how she would do in a home with cats. Hazel does LOVE other dogs, she loves to both snuggle and play with them. She's great on the leash and loves to go around the yard sniffing. She also loves to sit on your lap while your driving so she could be a great Co. Pilot for anyone who travels. She would love to find a home with a doggie brother or sister to keep her company. She's wonderful with all sizes, ages and temperaments of dogs. Hazel just wants to find a forever family!

Hazel is not aggressive with other dogs, she has been with small, large, young and old dogs.

At the rescue we require dogs to be kept indoors.

There is a $100 Adoption Fee for all dogs. Which includes the Spay/Neuter, Parvo/Distemper Combo Shot, Rabies Shot, Worming, Heartworm Tested Negative if over 6 months and Flea/Tick Prevention.
