My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

INITIAL BIO 04-12-09: Chewbaca was a shelter stray and was very scared in the kennel environment; thank goodness UYR was there to pull him out quickly! He is a yorkie mix – with some of the characteristics of the rare German Biewer Yorkie, possibly mixed with Chihuahua and Rat Terrier. His hair is not as soft as the yorkie’s hair, but is wirey and coarse. The vet has estimated his age at 5 months and he weighs only 5.4# at this time. He may fill out a little bit during the next couple of months, but probably won’t exceed 7# when full-grown. Chewy is definitely all puppy! When he saw the big over-flowing toy box at his new Foster Home, he just stood and stared at it – then he proceeded to jump in it and settle down for a nap – sooo sweet! He loves to play with toys, although it doesn’t appear he has played with toys in the past. He is very curious and alert with an abundance of energy; he watches the other dogs in the home and is learning from them. He gets along well with other small dogs – we don’t know about larger dogs or cats at this time. He adores running around the fenced back yard, so his perfect home would be one in which there was another doggie companion close to his size and age to play with, and a fenced-in back yard. Chewey adores his people and is very accepting of new people in the home – he thinks they came there just to visit him! NOTE: Because of his small size, Chewy cannot be adopted into a home with children under the age of 12 y/o.
