Sugar has been with us for over a year now. She is 2 years old and 9 lb.
Sugar is a special girl looking for a very special home. Sugar has been let down by people one too many times, and as a result, has a hard time trusting people. Even so, she is a silly, playful girl. She loves other dogs, and relies on them for social cues, so she must go to a home with other dogs. Sugar will occasionally come up to her humans and play silly games that involve her licking your finger-tips and then running away. Other than that, she does not like to be touched, except sometimes when everyone is settled in the bed at night, she likes to be petted just a little bit, before she'll get up and curl up at your feet to sleep. Sugar does best with consistent routines, and would appreciate a quieter home, without many visitors and no children.
Sugar needs a very patient family who understands she is a work in progress. She has good days, when she's super playful and friendly, but she also has off days, when she'll run away and hide from you. She may never be a confident dog who actively seeks attention and enjoys being petted and doted on. Nevertheless, Sugar would love to have a forever home of her very own.
