Here's what the humans have to say about me:
We rescued Pepper (2 y.o.) from a farm where she was left outside 24/7, exposed to the elements in a small metal pen her entire life. She developed bacterial infections in her eyes, ears, and nose, as well as a UTI and hardened tarter on her teeth. At the pet ER, she was prescribed two antibiotics and a steroid. She is not contagious to other dogs, but if you have other dogs, they will have to be monitored so they do not lick at her infected areas. As of today, 9/25, she has about 2 weeks of treatment left to go.
Despite her unfortunate circumstances, Pepper is still such a happy dog, walks great on a leash, and is extremely friendly with people and other dogs. We have taken Pepper into our home, but she is not best suited for the apartment life we have to offer. She is house trained and crate trained but does occasionally bark (we've not yet learned all of her triggers). She needs a home with a yard, a lot of patience, time, and love to give.
