My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

What is your name? Squido, Squid, Squid Squid

How old are you? Almost 4 months

How much do you weigh? 17lbs and growing!

What do you look like? Shiny black fur (like ink) with cute little grey and white speckled paws and chest.

What kind of personality do you have? I am very smart, loving and playful. I probably will follow you around the house unless you have a toy or another pup to keep me busy. I’m a little shadow.

Describe your perfect day:
Food, Treats, Sleep and humans! I also enjoy torturing the adult dogs in the house with my puppy antics.

What is your favorite toy? I love toys! I have a big red snake that I love to drag around at the moment.

Do you know any tricks?
I sit so far, not much of a trick, but my foster mom says since I can already get on the couch and figure things out quickly I am a very smart boy. Sometimes when she is sitting down I like to try to steal her blanket, it’s pretty funny.

What scares you? Nothing much so far. I do bark at the vacuum, it is noisy so I can be noisy too!

Have you been around children, do you like them? I haven’t been around children too much yet, foster mom thinks I may want to lick their faces, I am a quick learner so just tell me no, and I will get it.

Do you like cats? Cats, probably, I am so young it might be good for me to be raised w/ some of those “things”.

How do you feel about other dogs? I live with 3 big dogs and like them all. They are teaching me boundaries and how to be a dog. My older brother plays a little rough w/ me and it’s fun, my sisters ignore me and I leave them be when they tell me to.

If you could be anywhere in the world where would it be? Somewhere near my humans feet, snuggling or waiting for snacks.

How is your health? No known issues here, I’m a happy healthy pup.

Who do you live with in your foster home and who is your closest companion.
My 2 foster parents, 2 two dog sisters, and a big brother, I love both my foster parents but tend to go to mom mostly, if I sit and be very calm she will pick me up and rub my neck.

Where do you hang out when you are home alone? In a closed off area w/ my crate, toys and blankets. I am still learning to love the crate during the day but sleep well in it at night. A couple little peeps and I am out for the night.

Do you like walking on a leash? I am not fully vaccinated yet but have gone on leash in the yard a few times and so far so good, it is a bit confusing at first. In a few weeks I will be going on a lot of walks!

Do you have any not so great habits that we should know about for instance do you bark or dig in the yard?
Only normal dog stuff. If things get exciting I might bark, if you leave a smelly shoe, how can I resist putting it in my mouth and dragging it around the house.

Are you house trained?
I am so young I still need a routine, I have only had a few accidents inside when I failed to aim right for the pee pad but most of the time I go outside right when you let me out.

Do you like water? Not sure, bath time is a little scary, I have a kiddie pool I drink out of sometimes.

What do you love about your current family? They let me snuggle on the couch and watch tv, and give me treats when I sit. It’s pretty fun to have toys and other pups around but I would enjoy any loving home. I really enjoy people!

What was your life like before being rescued by your current family? I was found out on the street by a good person, who tried to find my family with no luck, they couldn’t keep me, so I was headed to a shelter, which is no place for a puppy. NorCal Bully Breed took me in and soon I will be in my forever home.

NorCal Bully Breed Rescue is a foster based rescue with foster homes spread all throughout the Sacramento area. We usually require our adopters to be within a 50 to 100 mile radius of us, depending on the dog, and depending on the home. This is because we need to do a yard check to guarantee that the potential adopter's yard is secure, and also have them be close enough should any behavioral issues arise, and the assistance of our trainer is needed. We are, however, willing to adopt out of our area, including the Bay Area, Tahoe, and even further. We've even adopted out of state on very special occasions. We try our best to match our dogs to the perfect homes, and match them based on their personalities, not their looks. Adoptions are not done on a first come, first serve basis, rather in the order of what homes are the right match for that particular dog. Our adoption fees are based on the dog and range from $200-$350. In the case of senior dogs (6+ years), fees will be waived to the right home. This includes spay/neuter, vaccines, microchip, and deworming (if necessary).

Squido's adoption donation is $350.

Interested in meeting Squido or any of our available pooches? Complete and submit our adoption application on our website norcalbullybreedrescue.com and we will respond to you within 24 to 48 hours.
