My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

This is Fisk (HWTH#18222A). He is a Maltese mix, DOB: 2/28/18. Fisk weighs approximately 10 pounds and stands 12 inches at the shoulders now with a little more growing to do (he will remain a smallish dog when mature). He has been relinquished to Halfway to Home because his owner has too many animals to care for adequately. This is a sweet boy who is a little timid with strangers but shows absolutely no signs of aggression and warms up to you quickly. He may need just a little time to adjust to his new surroundings. With lots of love, good-quality human companionship, structure, playtime, daily exercise and some training it should not take Fisk long to feel comfortable and secure in his new environment. Fisk seems to like being held and feels safe in your arms. When Fisk in thoroughly settled in his new home, he will benefit from positive basic obedience training to help with leash training and other obedience commands as well as the bonding process. His relinquish sheet states Fisk is good with older children and small dogs. When introducing Fisk to larger dogs, it should be done very slowly so they do not frighten him. Since Fisk is less than 1 year old, he should be provided with a variety of chew toys so he has an outlet for puppy chewing. Fisk is crate trained but may still need to be house trained a little. For more information on Fisk, please call Sandy at tele # 661-824-4495.

Fisk is extremely shy and needs lots of patience and TLC. He would be terrified of rowdy children.
