Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Hi, everyone! Rusty here. I spent my first 11 years of life in Florida as a breeder dog. Then our breeder passed and nine other JRTs and I didn’t have any place to go. Ruh-roh! Thankfully, Almost Home Rescue stepped in and, with the help of other rescues, found us places to go.
Although I was a breeder dog, I was fortunate to be in a home for a little while, so I’m kind of used to things. I’m even crate trained! I’m pretty trusting and loving and, for the most part, I just like hanging out and watching the other dogs do their things … unless someone else wants to play. Then I’m game! I am mostly deaf and gave White Shaker Dog Syndrome, but neither slows me down. I especially love “playing ball” with my food bowl when I’m done. “What noise?!”
I’m ready to spend the second chapter of my life in a home with an awesome family. It would be really great if I could find someone who has had deaf dogs and can teach me some hand signals. I’m very focused and this “old dog” can easily learn new tricks. I could even make a great therapy dog.
