My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet DORA!!

Dora is a 1 year old, 6-7 pound, spayed female. She looks to be a dachshund/chihuahua or min pin blend. She may have some long hair doxy in there as her hair is a bit longer.

Dora showed up at a citizen's home and was brought into the city shelter. She waited for her family to come get her, but no one came. She had some hair loss, probably from poor nutrition, and has blossomed into a beautiful little girl.

Dora is the sweetest girl, and is the epitome of a perfect companion. If you are looking for a snuggle buddy who is content to curl up with you on the couch, and accompany you on outings, this is your girl. She is playful and fun, and chills out to perfection. Dora is good in a crate, is progressing in potty training, and will need some refresher training in her new home. She is worth the time ♡

Dora is heartworm negative, current on vaccinations, bordatella, flea and heartworm preventive, and is micro-chipped. She comes with a health certificate to travel.

Dora's preferred home has a secure fenced in yard she can play in supervised (no electric or wireless please), a canine friend of similar size to keep her company, and because of her small size, no children under 6 please.

Dora is currently in a foster home in San Antonio TX and can be transported to your area once adopted. All adopters must meet requirements.

Dora is available thru the City of Lytle TX Animal Care and Control. The adoption fee is $185, and ground transport fee to the East coast via Rescue Road Trips is $185. Ground transport runs every 2 weeks and fills up fast.
