My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hello,

The first step in adopting me is to visit www.goboxerrescue.com and fill out the application to adopt.

My name is Marley and I am a 4-5 year old female boxer mix. My previous caretakers said I was a boxer/shepherd mix, but there is some question on that. I have only been in my foster home for 10 days, and they are my third home in the last 3-4 weeks. My owner was suffering from a mental problem (spent a lot of time in a crate), and was going to leave me in crate when going into the hospital. A family member said that was not acceptable so she brought me to her house. Well, her dog did not like me, so another family member took me. Well, they said I was too playful for their little dogs, so they took me in to be euthanized! Thank goodness the vet said no, and the people at GO Boxer Rescue came to the rescue! Needless to say, I am feeling somewhat anxious with all these changes. My foster mom says I am super sweet, love people, love to snuggle, and love belly rubs. She is hoping a daily routine, exercise, and other anxiety relieving methods will help me settle down.

My foster mom took me to the vet today, which was very exciting to see new people. I weigh 51 pounds, HW negative, getting up to date on vaccines, and will be spayed very soon. I know sit and no, walk well on a leash (these are my first walks and really enjoy them), house trained and crate trained.

Since I never was around other dogs until recently, have to learn how to behave around my foster brother and sister. I really am happy to see them and want to play, but I get too bossy. My foster sister says she is in charge, so I have to learn to respect that. My foster mom says maybe a dog that is more easy going may be a better playmate for me. I don’t need a playmate if there are humans around though. I love to be around people, so will do better in a home where people are home more than they are gone. I need someone who is willing to take me for long walks, maybe a jog, play with me, and take me for some training.

Did I mention I love all kinds of toys? Love to play fetch, play with soccer balls, toys that I can chew on … Cats are fun to play with also, though they don’t think so. I am gentle with them, but like to chase them if they run. When I see the squirt bottle, that means it is time to stop irritating the kitties!

Please consider giving me a furever home! I need a home that will give me some guidance and love, and I will give you kisses and snuggles!

Remember, the first step in adopting any dog from GO Boxer Rescue is to fill out the on line application that you will find on the website: http://www.goboxerrescue.org.
