Meet HawkEye (Hawk) Hawk is approximately 4 years old and is an Australian Shepherd mix weighing about 55-60 lbs. He was found as a stray so we don't know his history but he came to us very scared, full of anxiety, and heart worm positive. He is now free of heart worms and doing much better. While he gets along great with other dogs he takes his time warning up to people (especially males). He has shown no aggression, just the opposite actually, and will retreat to a corner or crate when he is scared or uncertain of his surroundings. He is currently on medicine to help with his anxiety.
This handsome boy must have a home with one or more social and accepting dogs, he looks to them for guidance and they help with controlling his anxiety. He does well with children but older children would be better since he needs a calm environment in order to thrive. Hawk will walk on a leash but he needs a fenced in yard so that he feels safe and secure (strange people and noises still cause anxiety). He definitely has to have a special family with patience and a lot of love to give but the reward is a loyal and loving companion. Hawk is neutered, UTD on shots; currently on heart worm and flea prevention; crate trained; dog friendly of all size pups; does well with children but older preferred; has only been around cats once and ignored them. Hawk is being fostered in the Atlanta, Ga area.
