Meet Firefly!

She is a 2-3 year old chihuahua/dachshund mix weighing about 5 lbs.

Firefly is a beautiful little girl who is very scared of people. She was found on the streets with a fishhook in her mouth. She has the sweetest personality once she gets comfortable in her surroundings. She is in a foster home and it took her a couple of months to be ok with her foster family. She still does not like to be touched or talked to and will run and hide if you try. She loves food and peanut butter so you can gain her trust that way. As long as you don't acknowledge her, she runs around and acts like a normal dog. She loves other small dogs and needs to be in a home with another dog to make her feel safer and to have a playmate.

Firefly will need a very patient, calm home and a lot of time to adjust. She will need to be left alone to do her own thing for awhile before trying to hold her or take her outside. She will use pee pads and when she gets comfortable, she will start going outside for you. She will need a secure, fenced in yard that she cannot get out of. She is tiny, so she can squeeze through anything. She loves to be outside and she will run circles around the yard as fast as she can.

Firefly is in a foster home in Lytle, TX and can be transported by plane to your area once adopted. Her adoption fee is $185 and she can be flown for the cost of the flight and a crate.
