We adopted Murphy from the Humane Society in Milpitas about five weeks ago. We love the dog! She has a wonderful, affectionate personality. She came from Madera where she may have been an outside dog. We have found that the dog needs more exercise than we can provide at our age.
A trainer has taught her sit, stay, "no". She is very smart and learns readily, according to the trainer.
We rehomed her to a home that had another female. It did not work out. I have learned that two females are often a problem. We introduced her today to a prospective male dog friend who was very territorial. She has an Alpha personality and would need to go to a home with no dog or a dog that is subservient, not Alpha.
We believe she is good with kids. A two-year-old boy who visited got along well with Murphy.
Murphy loves to chase squirrels and barks at them. Otherwise, she does not bark much.
