Beans is a 3-year-old Shih Tzu rescued from Riverside Shelter where he was listed Code Red Rescue Only for behavior issues. Beans has improved his behavior but can still be unpredictable and needs an experienced adopter. He does much better with men. We do not recommend children be allowed to interact with him.

Beans is a cute quirky little fellow. He's a loves to play fetch and eat yummy treats. Beans was most likely abused as a young puppy and is in turn defensive when he doesn't get his way. He is looking for an experienced owner who will be patient with the stubbornness that his breed is known to have as he learns to correct his behavior. Beans is protective of himself, especially around new people. He does well with other dogs, is submissive to larger dogs, and can use a more dominant companion who can show him how to act.
