My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Trisha -- Meet Trisha! Trisha is a very pretty, petite 3 year old black/tan female Doberman. Trisha weighs about 50 lbs and has a docked tail and cropped ears. Trisha is a sweet, gentle, very smart girl. She has a lot of personality and a mind of her own for sure!
We don’t know Trisha’s history since she was found as a stray but based on what I have observed, I suspect she was kept confined and alone and used as a breeder. A terrible life for a dog. Due to her past, Trisha takes some time to trust people so she requires a patient adopter. Your patience, as mine has, will be rewarded with her devotion to you. Trisha will sit calmly next to you just happy to be near you. Trisha gets worried when she is alone and/or if she is confined so she is looking for a retired person whose lifestyle allows them to be with Trisha or take Trisha with them where they go most of the time. Someone who works from home or can take her to work with them may work as well.
If left alone she should not be crated or confined to a very small area. Trisha may have "accidents" due to anxiety if left alone. She isn't destructive. Trisha has gotten better about being alone for short periods since she has been with us but she will likely always be worried when alone. I think part of the issue is her trusting that you will come back. Trisha rides great in the car and does well on a leash. She becomes protective of her house and will bark at strangers coming into her home. When Trisha is outside, she loves to play fetch so getting her exercised isn't a problem. She loves being outside and can be a bit stubborn about coming in when called.
Check out her video: https://youtu.be/shfhTjb-EEs She also enjoys long walks around our property and enjoyed playing in our shallow stream when it was warmer. Trisha is one of the few dobes I have seen that does not mind going outside in the rain! She will be fine as an only dog or with a calm, easy going doggie buddy.
Trisha had found her perfect forever home recently but very sadly her adopter had significant health issues and had to return Trisha. Trisha and her adopter were heartbroken but Trisha is resilient and has fallen back into her routine at our house. If you are a kind, patient person who lives a quiet life, email me to talk about possibly meeting our pretty Trisha. You can see pictures of Trisha at www.dobe.net
