The shelter is no place for a baby like Keebler to grow up in. At first I thought he was older simply by how incredibly calm he was in his kennel. He came up for easy leashing and walked pretty well in the yard. He makes great eye connection and sat on command the first time I asked. He’s got a very gentle mouth for treats too. Once we got in the lot some of Keebler’s puppy behaviors started to show. He seems to really enjoy undivided attention and when he’s not getting it he jumps in attempts to get it back.
Don’t let his little stature fool you, Keebler jumps so high you’d think he was on a trampoline. He can also get worked up playing and mouthy but handled a verbal reminder very well. Keebler loves to be close and let me touch all over. He seems very eager to please his person (and for a person to call his own), treat motivated, and willing to learn if someone will show him the right doggy manners.
Keebler has started to attend dog playgroup. He can show a bit of barrier reactivity at fences, but he comes in with playbows and loves a lot of chase and wrestling.
