Meet Renault (also know as Ren or Rennie) - This handsome guy is looking for someone to enjoy the outdoors with!
Renault is an affectionate 5 year old lab mix with excellent house manners; he is
non-destructive, house-trained, and quiet (non-barker). His disposition is quiet and
calm. However, he is very prey-driven and when on a leash, he can really pull when
he sees squirrels and geese (he LOVES squirrels and almost always notices them).
Because of this, he is likely best off in a home without cats and his leash manners will
need some work!
Renault is indifferent to other dogs (big and small), but can be a bit uneasy around
high-energy dogs that are pushy (especially in enclosed spaces). He has been known
to give a warning growl to let other dogs know when he doesn’t want to play.
Renault shows no signs of resource-guarding and although he will take a treat, he is
not very ‘food-motivated’ but does seem to have the desire to please. Currently, he is working on learning some basic commands (i.e. Sit, stay, no, leave it). Rennie is very strong when on leash so will also need continued leash training in his forever home.
He doesn’t like small spaces - including crates and cars. Once in the car, he is quite calm, but he needs to be lifted in (no amount of treats or coaxing gets him in there on his own). But he does love meeting new people and is very receptive to affection from anyone who will offer it!
Ideal home: Long walks regularly and/or a fenced in backyard. Note: He can jump over fences up to 5 feet tall! So he will need to be supervised when in the yard at all times.

Children: I haven't met any yet!
With the right amount of patience and love, Renault will be an ideal companion!
