My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Louie. Louie is a 10 month old chocolate Doberman and currently weighs 67 pounds (and he is not done growing). Louie came to us as an owner surrender after his mom and dad separated. When Louie came to us he had almost no proper and consistent exposure or training. He is getting better but he is also still very puppy and has a lot of energy. He is easily excited. Louie does have some crate anxiety as he had been crated 24/7 before arriving with us. He does best when he is crated in a separate room by himself. We have eliminated his mouthy behavior. He has picked up some commands. Mostly we have been working with his bad manners from his lack of exposure to people and dogs, which he is making huge progress on.

Louie is a goofy boy with zero concept of his size. When he sniffs you he pushes his full snout into your face. He is constantly tripping over his long legs. He loves the Sanctuary trampoline and he is doing really well with his recall. Louie was a bit of a mess when he arrived and we had to take him apart and mend him back together to teach him right from wrong and how to behave.

Louie needs a home with continued training with a profession trainer. He is very puppy still. He needs a breed experienced owner. Louie is good with cats and dogs. He would do best with older children (that respect a dog and their space) or with no children. Louie is house and crate trained. Louie loves all people, he just needs to continue learning how to properly greet new people and dogs. Louie does need a secure, solid fenced in yard (6ft or higher).

Louie needs a patient owner. He would do fine as an only dog as long as his owners dedicate to training exposure and playdates. He would be great with a playful pup in the home. He cannot go into a home with older dogs as he is just too rude and playful. We would not want anyone accidentally getting hurt.
