My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

ELLIE: dob: March 24, 2008..13" tri-colored Beagle...sweet, gentle, friendly, even tempered. HOUSEBROKEN, crate-trained, walks well on-leash, rides well, LOVES to roam outdoors/would make an EXCELLENT companion for anyone who is not into walking the dog briskly for 2 mi 2X day, but who enjoys gardening, or just sitting outside and watching the trees blow in the wind.                                                                                                                                       Must have a fence. Ellie is NOT a 'dog park' kinda gal-it would definitely overwhelm her.

RESCUED, when her owner passed away.

100% healthy, a sweet and gentle girl with a heafty appetite, IF allowed. Needs someone who will take care enough to NOT feed her an unhealthy diet(she came to us on Beneful-ick! and NOT GOOD for Beagles with all that dye in it!)give her too many treats, or allow her to roam and forage. She doesn't wander far, but she's ever-vigilant for any morsel she can find. It's our opinion that she once knew 'hunger'. But then, was adopted from a shelter n Oregon & adopted by her past owner, who recently passed away from pancreatic cancer. Ellie's loving mama chose not to go in to Hospice because she wanted to remain with Ellie til the very end.

When the finally end came, her sister & brother-in-law took care of their home and Elllie for 4 more months, so that Ellie could remain where she felt most comfortable until they found an opening with Howlin4Spirit CARes.
