My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Please read this bio. Information about meeting this pet is provided. If you are seeing this post, this kitten is available for adoption so you do not need to email us asking if still available.

Meet Mercedes, born 9-05-18 and she is such a peanut and very friendly. She is tiny for her age at only about 1 1/2 pounds at 8-9 weeks. She's also a little thin but has already gained weight since arriving to us. Being a little thin doesn't slow her down. She loves to play and cuddle when it's time for naps. We aren't sure yet given her young age if she will grow to be a long haired fluffy girl or a girl with a fluffy tail and feathers. Mercedes is a very sweet loving girl, and will surely make any home a happy home. Given she's so small and delicate, right now we feel a home with children 7+ would be best.

Small kittens this age shouldn't have free run of a large home. They are babies. They will need a room of their own, preferably with a person to keep her socialized since she will be alone if not adopted with a sibling and it's not something she's use to. Cats do not like being kept in dog cages.

Mercedes and her siblings arrived to Angels on Wheels on 10-27-18 from a high intake shelter. She is being fostered in a home in Orland Park with her siblings Ford and Chevy. Orland Park is where you and your family would go to meet this kitty after an adoption application has been submitted. They all use the kitty box and have never had an issue since arrival.

An adoption application must be submitted prior to making an appointment for a meet and greet. Adoption applications can be found on our website at angelsonwheels.org, then clicking on the applications tab.

Submitting an application does not commit you to any animal, but is required prior to making arrangements for a meet and greet as all of our animals are cared for in homes. We can't schedule meet and greets until the application is submitted and approved. We don't have a building so there are no viewing hours. All of our animals are cared for in foster homes by wonderful families who volunteer their time to save these precious souls. Thank you for your patience and understanding.

This kitten is too young to be fixed You will receive a coupon to have the kitty fixed at one of our participating vets when the kitten is around 4 months. We do pay for the spay/neuter. There is a $100.00 spay/neuter deposit to assure the kitten is fixed. We do not cash the check, but hold it and once the kitty is fixed it will be voided.

The adoption fee of $175.00 includes:
