My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

This sweet boy, the wardens believe was once used as a bait dog. His wounds are healing nicely but his mind is taking some time. He is very shy but once he gets to know you, he loves and trusts with all his heart. He has shown NO aggression at the pound but the wardens recommend he be the only pet. Please don’t let his scars scare you, they are reminders of his terrible past but with the healing comes hopes of a brighter tomorrow. Please consider adopting our gentle giant. Stop by the dog wardens office for a visit with this sweet boy.


Available for a limited time from the Carroll County Dog Pound, Carrollton, OH which is located southeast of the Akron/Canton area. The pound is open Monday-Friday, 7AM-3:30PM, except holidays. The adoption fee is $32 and includes a microchip, 5-way vaccine and a dog license which will be mailed to you. If there is more than one person interested in a dog that will be going up for adoption, a drawing will be held at 7:15AM the morning that dog is available. The pound is not able to comply with requests to hold dogs.

Dogs at the pound are strays and surrenders and are not health or temperament checked. Any dog from any pound can be infected with parvo or other contagious diseases and should be isolated from your pets at home until examined or tested by a vet. If you adopt a puppy who has been vaccinated it should not be given another parvo vaccination for at least two weeks. For information on parvo, please consult a veterinarian.
