My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Orik is as big, strong and handsome as his name suggests. However if you were to name him for what he is in his heart and the colour of his soul his moniker would be something like Cuddles, Muffin, Bounce or even Happy Feet. His most favourite thing to do is cuddle on the couch (of which he is a hog) and joyously toss a stuffy toy around including in your face.

He is an exuberant boy who when excited will forget his size and launch himself at you for hugs and kisses. (I think he thinks he is the size of a shitzu). When he is excited his bark is a raspy high pitched sound that is truly adorable. Orik LOVES dogs... big, small, boys, girls he doesn't care (when he sees them it's usually when his raspy high pitch bark comes out).

Orik plays like most Rotties, big and bold with plenty of muscle and sounds. He is not a problem, but most breeds don't play like that and some will find his play intimidating as he growls, snarls and pounces. He however does not take offence when told off by other dogs and just goes off to do something else.

This boy wants to be good and tries very hard to be. He was never taught manners but is very eager to learn. He is an absolute food hound so positive reinforcement training is a breeze with him and he is a very intelligent dog. He is super clean in his kennel and when he comes in the house. Orik LOVES people, men, women and kids. He is part Rottie so some people he has trouble trusting right off but once introduced he goes in for hugs and kisses. He brings his big bark out for strange cars pulling into the driveway and strange voices on the other side of the privacy fence but especially for the neighbour's shady chickens. When asked to stop he does and goes about doing something else. He is a wonderful, loving and funny boy whose antics will having his family laughing daily.

No families with kids under 14 as he just has no idea of his size. Will have to do a meet if there is a dog and we do not know what he is like with cats. Please share this post as he truly deserves the best.

We REALLY want to give this boy the chance he deserves. If you think you could help us with Orik, please come to our website and fill out the on-line adoption/foster application on the left. Our website is http://furkidsrescue.ca/dogs_adopt.html.
