My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Oh Miss Pugglesworth, how happy we are that we are the rescue that got to save you! This little snorty girl is amazing and is an expert cuddler. We simply cannot believe this girl was brought in as a stray and her people never came to get her! She's five years young and only about nine pounds.

Peggie is quiet (except the typical Pug snort now and then) and oh so snuggly. It is obvious she has had pups in the past, but also that she was most likely treated like a princess. She is a submissive thing too, even rolling onto her back for the foster's three-year-old grandson to love on her.

Peggie has gotten along with every dog she's met, even the very large and energetic ones. She is quick to get onto one for invading her space but that's it - a quick word and she's done. She is good with cats too. As for kids - she is great with them but if they are loud and unpredictable then she would prefer not to be close to them because they scare her. We are looking for a home where any children are at least five years old and are respectful of all animals.

If you are looking for the prefect snuggle buddy that fits in the crook of your arm then Miss Peggie Pugglesworth may be the girl for you.

All potential adopters are expected to complete an application and provide pictures of their yard, patio, and/or balcony making sure we can see the fence line and/or railing. The application can be completed and submitted from our website - throwmeabonedogrescue.org - the link is found of the Adoption Process page. Applications will be reviewed for approval before setting an appointment to come meet and possibly adopt the dog of interest. In addition, those who live in a rental property are expected to provide proof that they are allowed to have a dog where they live.

Each of our rescued dogs has been de-wormed if necessary, de-flea'd (with topical treatment if old enough, and by medicated bath if too young), spayed/neutered, microchipped, is up to date on shots, and has been fully examined by a veterinarian. In addition, each adopted dog comes with a starter baggie of the food it has been eating, a few treats for training purposes, a rawhide chew, a lead and collar, and a folder containing pertinent records.
