My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

***Courtesy Post- if you are interested in meeting Lucy, please contact her foster mom directly at liaberesford@gmail.com

Lucy was brought to a vet clinic with a very large ear hematoma. She was unvaccinated, not spayed, and infested with fleas. A clinic employee offered to help the owner with discounted services. Lucy returned, her ear filled with blood again. Her ear was drained again and the clinic worker offered to pay for all of Lucy’s treatments, including the ear repair surgery, if the owner agreed to have her spayed. The owner was hesitant and left the clinic unsure of what he would do with Lucy.

About a week later he returned with Lucy, her ear filled with blood, and her face matted with blood and crust. This time he surrendered Lucy to the clinic worker. The very next day Lucy was spayed and her ear repaired. Lucy wore a cone for three weeks as she recovered from her surgeries. About a month after the ear repair surgery, the hematoma returned, her ear filling with blood. Her doctors believed that the best option to keep this condition from reoccurring was to remove the afflicted ear. Lucy’s ear was removed on November 12. She hears just fine and is sometimes lovingly referred to as "Sharky".

Lucy currently lives with two 70 lb German shepherds, one cat, and two people. Lucy thrives on interaction and loves attention from both people and other dogs.
