My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

YOU MUST HAVE AN APPROVED APPLICATION IN ORDER TO SET UP A TIME TO MEET OUR PETS.

Snowflake is a darling 13 pound, 6 year old fluffy little guy who is just so sweet!

We do not know his breed mix but he looks like a low shedding Poodle or Bichon mix. He was an owner surrender to the Fayetteville shelter around the time of Hurricane Florence. We do not know his story other than that he was owner surrendered.

This energetic and charming boy is outgoing and friendly, not a bit shy! He makes new people friends in a flash and bonds quickly. He even gets along with cats.

It seems that he probably was living in a nice, loving home before his surrender since he loves everything to do with being a pampered pet.

He is already housetrained and asks to go both outside and come back inside when he is finished. He loves a fenced yard, seems to be used to that. It helps if he can run around since he has energy to spare!

He is a happy pup who loves playing with soft toys, especially shaking them enthusiastically. He does not seem to be possessive about his stuff and enjoys it when you grab his toy and make it wriggle.

Snowflake wants to be close to people as much as possible and he enjoys laps and snuggles. He thinks tummy rubs are great. He places a high value on having his very own people to love. Once he falls in love with you (fast!), he wants to follow you around everywhere you go.

Snowflake is currently feeling pretty anxious about being homeless and is somewhat unsettled and nervous at having what was probably a lifelong routine disrupted. You will notice that he acts restless when you come to meet him. He does insist on sleeping with you in the big bed and does not like being crated, makes him really anxious. He would be better left in a doggie safe gated room when you have to go out.

Snowflake needs a new owner who understands pups who do not like to be left alone and who have a bit of a nervous Nelly type personality. He will thrive with a regular routine and an owner who will give him ample exercise and mental/emotional stimulation so that he gets tired enough to relax and is a happy camper.

When he is feeling anxious, it does help to give him a stuffed toy to shake and play with, especially if you play with him. He really does enjoy and need lots of interaction.

Because he is such a loving, people oriented pup, he does have separation anxiety and really needs a home in which someone is home most of the time. He would be perfect for an active, retired couple that liked to take their dog with them all kinds of places. He would NOT be appropriate for a single person who worked all the time or a family in which everyone was gone all day.

He is comfy on the leash and likes to go for nice walks. He has plenty of energy and does need good walks to get the ants out of his pants! He may look like a cute stuffed toy but prefers an active and sociable lifestyle to sitting around just looking decorative. He is sociable on walks and comfy with passing people and dogs.

He is good in the car and fine with riding in a crate, if that is what you want. (He does not like being crated in a home, though.)

This bouncy boy is very eager to be established in a new home; he says being homeless is unsettling and for the birds (no offense to the birds).

So, if you enjoy a sociable and energetic cutie pie, come meet Snowflake. He seems to like well behaved kids. Adoption donation $200.
