My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

3/10/19 - IVE BEEN ADOPTED!

Adoption Fee: $325
Fostered in Baton Rouge, Louisiana
Age: 5 years
Weight: 6.6 lbs.

12/5/18 - As Lord Byron, the English poet, wrote as a tribute to his Newfoundland dog that had passed, "These dogs possess beauty without vanity, strength without insolence, courage without ferocity, and all the virtues of man, without his vices." The same could be said for all yorkies, but not everyone appreciates these delightful companions. Take Hannah for instance, she was found walking the streets alone by a good Samaritan. She was missing 80 percent of her hair, had teeth and breath even a mother could not love, an ear infection and had never been spayed. She was brought to the local shelter to see if anyone was missing her, but no one came to claim her. As rescue groups see all too often, we suspect her good Samaritan who brought her to the shelter claiming she was picked up stray was actually her owner who just did not want her any longer. That was fine with Yorkie Haven Rescue because when they were contacted to see if a foster home was available, they were more than happy to take in this sweetheart and do everything they needed to get her healthy and find her the family that she deserved. One that will be chosen for her to be exactly what she needs. Hannah has had most of her vetting done now. All except for a hernia repair that is scheduled for Thursday, December 6th.

Hannah gets along fine with the other pups in her foster home and has just recently started to play with Khloe who is another pup on the site in her foster home. She has a very good appetite and loves sleeping in bed with her humans. She is a very social pup and is great with everyone she meets. She will pick up a toy occasionally, and we are hoping she will play with them more once she comes out of her shell more. She does well with doing her business outside when let out often but has had the occasional accident here and there. Even though she does walk ok on a leash, she would do better with a fenced yard since she likes to run and play and lay out in the sun in nice weather.

She isn't afraid to "speak" to you and let you know she is impatient when you are fixing her breakfast or supper and has no problem barking at the doorbell even if it's on tv. She likes to be held and loves to give kisses. She is a middle of the road dog as far as personality goes. Not timid, but not fearless. Hannah isn't super clingy like most yorkies, but definitely isn't independent. She does like to know where her person is at all times and will sometimes lay in the dog bed and other times wants to sit in the chair with her human. Hannah would benefit going to a home with one or two other dogs and it would be great if they liked to play and would ask her to join in.

This about sums Hannah up. So, what are you waiting for? Don't let this gem get adopted out from underneath you. She is definitely a companion for life you will never regret choosing.

11/25/18 - BIO COMING SOON!
