Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Meet Titan
I am debating which to talk about first, his past, or who he is. I will start by saying that this dog has a pair of some of the most soulful eyes I have seen. He's an old soul, sensitive, cautious, trying his best in a world that has not always fair.
In a shelter, he sits surrounded by young, cute and more vocal dogs; the kind of dogs who draw in shelter visitors looking to adopt. These are the dogs who meet you at the front of their kennel, pulling out all of their charms to sell themselves and seal the deal. This is not Titan. Titan sits quietly. He's ten, beyond all that foolishness. He sits and he waits.
Titan was severely neglected for most of his life. Eventually, he was rescued by a good samaritan but she was unable to keep him long term. Titan made his way to PARL where he received a full medical workup. In addition to skin infections, and painfully infected ears, Titan had a tumor which turned out to be Mast Cell cancer. The tumor has been removed and he is almost fully healed from the surgery. His skin is beginning to look better but his ears will likely need attention for the remainder of his life.
Titan's adoption fee has been covered by a nice couple, he will go home with private training through PARL's Leap Fund program. Titan can go on walks with other dogs, but due to some selectivity with other canines, he would be most successful as the only pet in the home.
If you have any questions about Titan or might be interested in adopting him, please email me at heather@obhounds.com, or contact PARL at dogs@parl.org or call the shelter at 401-421-1399.
