My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Calling all Doxie Lovers! This mature, fun-loving gal is seeking a love match with someone who likes walks, appreciates long naps, likes being on the giving end of belly rubs and scratches and likes sharing their covers and blankets with a professional snuggler. Cocoa is a young at heart girl who is super sweet, affectionate, loyal, and loving - she’s the perfect match! She’s house trained, walks enthusiastically on a leash or harness, loves road trips, and would be happy to be your own personal doorbell. Cocoa loves people including children. She likes her crate for naps and such but would prefer to seek it out on her own. She would do best with a semi active person who wants a companion. She doesn’t want to run five miles ever, a short walk in the neighborhood is fine. She lives for her people and is happiest when someone is home with her. She is a fantastic companion dog. Cocoa has been spayed, had her dental and will be up to date on vaccines. She was previously very neglected and didn’t get vet care so we’re not sure how old she is. Shhhhh! Don’t tell her she’s a senior. She has no idea!

Cocoa had to have all of her teeth pulled. This does nothing to dampen her enthusiasm around food. She will need a good quality soft senior food for the rest of her life. If you know Doxie's then you know that a fenced, escape proof yard is a must. Home check and vet reference will be required. Cocoa is an indoor dog who likes supervised trips outside. She cannot be an outdoor dog as she loves her people too much.
