My story

Prickly Pear is a sweet, little Maltese mix and is approximately 18-months old. While she is timid and fearful when you first meet her and will need your patience until she’s learned to trust you, once you’ve gained her trust, she enjoys sitting on your lap and being your cuddle buddy. She may be shy, but that doesn’t stop her from enjoying life … she loves to play with toys, go for walks, and run around the backyard … she can jump so will definitely need a secure yard! She gets along well with other dogs, has not been around cats, and has thus far lived in a home with kids of the teenager kind. Prickly Pear came from a hoarding environment where she didn’t have the opportunity to learn proper house manners, so she will need a little patience and persistence in mastering the art of acceptable potty habits. However, she is very smart and totally food oriented and should learn quickly once she’s settled in and feels secure in her new home. Prickly Pear sleeps well in a crate at night. She does have some separation anxiety and would do best in a home where someone is around most of the time. Miss Prickly Pear is looking for a forever home where she will be given the time and patience she needs to blossom into the total lovebug she can be!
