My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Cloud is a great big, goofy “pup” who my vet guesses to be about 5 to 6 years old. And he is a real love dog!

Cloud (his name was inspired by his beautiful white coat) looks like an unusual breed called an American White Shepherd. I am sure he is a blend of breeds, but only because his ears do not stand up straight – they fold like a large Labrador Retriever’s would, and his tail and coat are somewhat like a Great Pyrenees. Considering his size and color, he could be part polar bear, for all I know!' tail.

Cloud is a big boy – he weighs nearly 75 pounds and is a hearty, handsome, robust sweetheart.

Cloud is completely house trained– he is extremely well behaved, comes when he is called, and will stick with you like super glue!

Of course, Cloud is neutered and up to date on all of his shots. He is also micro-chipped.

Cloud could become an absolutely perfect companion with the right family – he has no bad habits and he is quite the gentle giant.

I love this boy – he is so beautiful, big, and nice. He is great with even my little tiny foster dogs, as well as all the others. It is funny to see him teach the little ones their manners... He acts like the pack leader and gently, but firmly, tells the younger pups how to behave!

Cloud is also amazing with children! Kids can do just about anything with this big goofy boy and nother fazes him. Cloud was made to be with children. I have never seen Cloud be aggressive toward a child or an adult – he is protective and gentle.

I did some research on White Shepherds and this is what I discovered:
White Shepherds are courageous, keen, alert and fearless; cheerful, obedient and eager to learn; tranquil, confident, serious and clever. White Shepherds are extremely faithful, and brave. They will not think twice about giving their lives for their human pack. They have a high learning ability. White Shepherds love to be close to their families.

White Shepherds are very intelligent and crave a good challenge.

As you can see in Cloud’s photos, we are training him with a “gentle leader”-type collar – he is a big boy who needs some strong leash training, but he knows his basic commands:
Cloud sits, shakes “paws,” and knows the command “down.” He is just SO smart!

Cloud fits many of the characteristics of the American white Shepherd, but he seems more mellow and sweet than I would expect from a pure White Shepherd.

Even though Cloud is mellow and gentle, with a dog like him, you will always feel safe!

He is house trained and almost never barks. He does, however, sometimes snores – he sleeps on his bed in our bedroom and the only time I heard him bark was when he howled along with a police siren that went up our road – it was actually pretty funny and interesting – his howl was beautiful and made me think of a wolf’s howl!

If you are looking for a unique pal and family friend, I think Cloud would be a perfect choice!

He is, of course, neutered and up to date on his shots. He is in perfect health. Cloud is also micro-chipped.

I am sure you will fall in love with Cloud the same as I have! And if you like big dogs (I do!), he is perfect!

I am a firm believer in allowing people who are interested in adopting one of my rascals to have a sleepover (which can be more than one day), so you might want to take this big lug of a “Nana dog” home to see how you, your family, your other pets, and Cloud all adapt to one another.
