WAYLON (ARKANSAS)
Waylon is a tiny 3.5 pound Yorkie boy who is estimated to be 6 years old. He is being fostered in Bryant, AR.
Waylon comes to UYR along with buddy Willie. Both were abandoned at a Veterinarian’s office. When no one came for them, the office notified animal control, and these two boys were off to the shelter. We initially thought these two were very bonded but after two weeks in their foster home we have discovered that isn’t the case so we are removing their bonded pair status and will consider separate adoptions.
Waylon came to us in rough shape with matting, very long nails, thinning hair, dry skin and smelling pretty terrible. He is not neutered and badly in need of a dental. His health issues are all minor and most likely the result of poor nutrition and grooming neglect. The shelter Vet noticed a mass near Waylon’s groin and we were worried until his Vet visit revealed it is just an undescended testicle which will be addressed when he is neutered. Waylon also has significant dental tartar and decay and needs a full dental cleaning with likely extractions. Waylon is a Velcro boy and always wants to be in a lap. He is always asking to be picked up. He loves giving kisses and is very submissive.
Waylon is a tiny boy so tiny rules apply: No children under age 14, small dog siblings only, etc. He is not house-trained so a patient adopter with lots of time to help him learn is a must. He is scheduled for neuter and dental in early January so stay tuned for updates! Waylon’s veterinary expenses will run about $1000 so any donations towards his care would be much appreciated.
