Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Pei is estimated to be around 5 year old, neutered male who weighs about 7 lbs. We assume his first 5 years were pretty cruel to him, because he came to a kill shelter with one of his eye badly infected beyond being able to repair it, and he was also tested positive for heartworm. He was raised as an outdoor dog (although he was only a 7 lbs dog), and when his eye needed medical attention, his owner surrendered him to the shelter. What a sad life he had, but our rescuers decided to change his life around for the better! After he was brought in for the vet exam, we realized his eye could not be saved, but that did not stop this young brave little fella. He did remarkably well during the surgery, and his heartworm treatment, and when he finally came to our safehouse to join the rest of other friends who are in quarantine, Pei was nothing, but smile. He LOVES sitting on our volunteers' lap, and give lots of kisses. What a little love bug he is!! Noone will ever guess Pei's past was rather sad from the look of his face. That's how most of our rescued animals carry on, which is why we do what we do. We are happy to tell you that Pei has received a green light from his vet in Korea, and now all he needs is a family he can call his own!
We believe people who adopt rescue animals because they are willing to accept a bit of imperfection, and willing to embrace, work/ train and love them no matter what baggage the animal had in the past. It can be challenging, but extremely rewarding. We have seen amazing transformation in our adopted dogs who have been with loving families, and it is our goal to provide all of them with the opportunity. We are at our happiest when we see photos of our adopted animals smile with the new adoptive family, and we hope to find Pei a loving family who would do the same.
