My story

Meet Booberry! She is the queen, goddess, and leader of the house! Booberry was rescued during the 2018 California wildfires. She is looking for a home where she could be the only cat and where she will be #1. She LOVES taking naps and sleeping anywhere in the house - her human's bed, couch, cat tree, her own bed, or anywhere that is super high where she can watch the whole house! She also loves taking her naps by the window where she can lay under the sun. <3 Her number one spot to relax is probably on your lap. Booberry is a gorgeous girl with a big personality - hilarious, smart, loving and will chat with you sometimes! Booberry will do great as a single cat or will do fine with one other calm cat with PROPER introduction and in a home with no children or dogs. Booberry will love being close to you and laying by you. Honestly, she just wants a companion to be in the same room as her! What more could a girl ask for. Boo will let you know when she is over-stimulated with a hiss, or even a light bite, which is common for many cats. For example if she wants to be on your lap, but you need to move her to get up, be prepared she may not agree with your plans :). Booberry is absolutely SPECIAL and we adore her.

Go meet their pets

Due to COVID-19, we are not currently holding in-person adoption events. Most of our cats are in foster homes and we are doing virtual meet-and-greets with them. We also have adoptable cats at our two partner cat cafes – CatCafe Lounge (https://www.catcafelounge.com/) in West Los Angeles and Cat Therapy (https://www.cattherapysb.com/) in Santa Barbara. You can make a reservation on their websites, or we can arrange a meeting by appointment once you have filled-out our application and spoken to our team.

More about this rescue

Stray Cat Alliance is a non-profit organization focused on educating and empowering communities to advocate for every cat’s right to be safe, healthy, and valued. Everyday, our team works to save the helpless lives of kittens and cats by providing: spay/neuter, trap-neuter-return (TNR), adoptions, wellness care, medical care, and community shelter support. Our goals are to: -Eradicate cruelty toward cats through advocacy, rescue, and education. -Find loving forever homes for cats and kittens taken in through all of our programs. -Help shelters transform from executioners to safe havens for cats by implementing SCA’s life-saving policies and procedures. -Educate the community about the plight of free‐roaming cats and empower people to take action to stop population growth through spay and neuter. -Create and sustain a No-Kill Nation by mentoring other communities to become no-kill through our grassroots programs. Stray Cat Alliance envisions a time when all cats are valued and safe whether in homes or communities, and when shelters serve as temporary safe havens.
