My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Emmy came to us via a Northern Arizona shelter. She was surrendered after her family could no longer care for her. We believe her to be a 3 year old Flat Coated Retriever mix.

Emmy is one of the sweetest, well-behaved dogs anyone could ask for. Crate trained, house trained and great with other dogs, kids & adults.

Emmy came to us with chronic ear infections that had never really been treated. Her ear canals were closing which made it even more difficult to medically treat. We opted for a surgery called ear canal ablation which essentially means she had her ear canals completely removed. This surgery eliminated a life time of miserable ear infections. However, this procedure does leave Emmy mostly deaf, hearing only some tones and feeling vibrations. (Her ear canal is gone but her ear drum is still intact). Emmy should never be allowed off leash.
