My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Princess is a lab/boxer mix from Miami - adopted from the shelter as a puppy and found as a stray years later, heartworm +. She has been cured of heartworm but should now stay on monthly preventive. Princess has just had a dental and an ugly, but inconsequential growth removed from her foot. Her new adopter will get a series of refresher training classes beginning on March 31,2019 at Sit Happens in Mississauga. Princess is obedient but a refresher is always a plus.
She is sweet and friendly, with the cutest underbite and a quiet personality. She is very much a quirky dog, and embracing her quirks is the secret to a great relationship with her. She is good with dogs that are calm, and not in her face. She prefers smaller dogs. She does not do well with a bunch of cats, although she did live with one for a time. She is fine with children but because she isn't fond of being manhandled at first, we wouldn't recommend she live with them, but visiting children would be fine with supervision. A quiet home with someone there a lot of the time would be great for her. Princess would be a great companion for a single person, as she is pretty low key, not needy, and does a great imitation of a guard dog until told she is with friends. She is crate trained (good for a few hours) but would rather hang around on the couch while someone works from home, or works a full day but can provide a mid day break.. Princess loves her walks, is great on and off leash and will run around the yard if she is feeling energetic. She is not destructive and is trustworthy in the house. Although she takes her time to trust, she emerges as a perfect pet and companion.
Princess had a favorite toy at her foster home in Miami and it was emailed it to her. Princess sleeps with it every night and goes to get it for company in the middle of the day. Her beloved toy will go to her new home with her.
