Here's what the humans have to say about me:
?PORTER NEEDS AN EXPERIENCED FOSTER...NOW!
?NEEDS TO BE THE ONLY DOG?
Porter's Story
After being rescued by Friends of Stanly County animals from Rowan County, Porter found a foster, and moved to Chatham County to be with this family, who then decided to adopt him ? Because Porter snapped at the adopter for pushing him off of the couch (a simple treat and some coaching could have resolved that), the family dog started getting upset and didnt want Porter around. When Porter wanted to play, the family dog wanted to show him how upset she was. The scuffles became violent and the adopter waited until she was ready to dump our poor Porter at a shelter before we were ever advised that there was a problem...
The look on his face says it all. He knows the home he thought was his is no longer an option- He is DEFEATED. We NEED funds to board him!!! We are looking for a foster for him. Look at his face. He is so sad. Please share ♥
Porter is an approx 50 lb pit mix who is between 1 to 2 years old. He is neutered, HW NEG, and has had some training. He is not great at recall. He is both crate and potty trained, but will still have an accident if not taken out regularly. Like most Southerners, he hates the cold. He is good with other dogs but sometimes plays a bit rough (which can lead to issues without boundaries being addressed). He is very food driven. He needs a little work on commands as he will snap if you push him off bed/ couch or do something he doesn’t like. He LOVES his toys! We need a dedicated foster who will step up for him. We are once again having to find a spot in boarding.
We will continue to help the animals we have committed to but ask that you please share each one of them as often as possible so we can get back to where we were. "This too shall pass". Thank you again from the bottom of our hearts. ♥
