My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Chrissy will be here very soon! She's fun loving and affectionate. Play time and snuggles are her specialties. If interested in adopting Chrissy please fill out an application here http://www.bestfriendsforlifeanimalrescue.com/
When you're standing at the crossroads And don't know which path to choose Let me come along 'cause even if you're wrong... I'll stand by you, I'll stand by you. Won't let nobody hurt you, I'll stand by you. Take me in, into your darkest hour And I'll never desert you, I'll stand by you. And when, when the night falls on you, baby You're feeling all alone, you won't be on your own. I'll stand by you - from 'I'll Stand By You' by Chrissie Hynde
And that is our sweet affectionate girl Chrissy. Chrissy is a 2 year old Heeler/Lab mix weighing 45 lbs. We have no idea what her past life was like but her scars tell us she suffered a pretty traumatic event at some point in her young life. She has some scarring on her back side (we suspect burns) where the hair is not going to grow back but it sure doesn't change her beauty at all. Chrissy is completely house and crate trained, in fact foster mom says she has never had a single accident in the home since being in foster. She's an unstoppable force outside at play time and she will require a secure fenced in area as she will certainly take herself on an adventure if given the opportunity. Not to worry though, once she's in the house she is all snuggles and cuddles. She will absolutely be a lap dog if you let her and we sure hope you will otherwise you will definitely miss out on some really sweet moments. Chrissy's leash walking is a work in progress so she will need continued training, time, and patience to get it right. She's good with other dogs and people of all sizes and ages. Foster mom believes she will do well in a home with or without another dog, more importantly will be having a nurturing mom/dad who will allow her to love them and love her right back. While she has not harmed any cats that we are aware of, foster mom does not trust her with her cats unless under supervision. A home without cats would be a better fit for this girl. Chrissy will thrive best with an active family who will play with her and give her the exercise she needs...sorry couch potatoes she's not your type. Our precious little lady is already spayed, up to date on all vaccinations, current on preventatives, and micro chipped. She's ready to find her forever and always family and home. Chrissy is the kind of girl who will always be there through the best of times and times when tears will fall. Whatever you go through in life...she'll stand by you.
