Hello, I'm Layla. I'm a super sweet and gentle four year old girl who is looking for my forever home. I'm a gorgeous mix of blue brindle and white. My looks and personality are very greyhound/whippet, but hey I'm a rescue dog, who really knows what exact breed I may be. I'm the perfect age if you are looking for a laid back dog who prefers cuddling on the couch and not annoying puppy play. Speaking of puppies, that thing they do all over your house when they are growing up? You don't have to worry about that with me. I'm a responsible adult dog, who does my business in my yard and on walks. My foster parents leave for work every day an I do great in my kennel. I'm not destructive though so if you leave the room and your shoes are on the floor, I promise they will be in the same shape when you get back. I do great on walks and love other dogs. My current foster home has a senior dog that I'm very respectful of. I have been around both dogs my size and smaller and I have been great with all of them. I'm also cool as a cucumber on car rides so if you have adventures planned I would be the perfect co pilot to bring along. Get your application in now if you would like me on your couch. I will happily pack my suitcase and head over.
All of our pets start their journey in Memphis Tennessee where they remain in loving foster families until they are adopted.
In order to qualify for ALIVE’s program all of the following steps must be met: • You must be at least 24 years of age and be able to provide ALIVE with proof of age. • Any current pets must be up to date on vaccinations, and be spayed/neutered. Exceptions to this will only be considered if proof of a medical explanation is provided. • If you currently rent, you must provide a landlord’s phone number and a copy of your executed lease. • All members of the family living in the home where the animal will be placed must be interviewed. • Allow an ALIVE Rescue Memphis representative into your home for a visit to insure that your home is safe for the potential new dog or cat. • Be able and willing to spend the time and money necessary to provide training, medical treatment and proper care for a pet.
Currently, the requested donation to adopt a dog from ALIVE Rescue Memphis in the Memphis area over 4 months of age is $275.00, a dog under 4 months of age is $300.00 and a cat is $150.00.
Currently, the requested donation to adopt a dog from ALIVE Rescue Memphis to the Nashville area is $325.00. The $325.00 adoption fee includes transport to the Nashville area.
Currently, the requested donation to adopt a dog from ALIVE Rescue Memphis to the Chicago area is $475.00. The $475.00 adoption fee includes transport to the Chicago area.

Due to the extremely high volume of inquiries we receive, we ask that you submit an application immediately to start the adoption process. We try very hard to include all pertinent information in our bios. We are excited to help you find your new family member. However, ALIVE Rescue Memphis is operated 100% by volunteers. We want to spend our time saving dogs and assisting those adopters who have taken the time to complete an application. Thank you for understanding.
Breed selection is done in conjunction with two local vets and is not to be considered a guarantee but rather a well-educated decision from well qualified staff.
